Bernard is a Montgomery County native, having graduated from Springbrook HS, in Silver Spring. After which point, he attended the University of Michigan, where he received his Bachelors of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. While he had dreams of being a doctor, God had him on a different trajectory. In August 2000, he was introduced to the Lord, in whom he accepted as Lord and Savior.
Several years later, after a bumpy road of faith, he rediscovered his relationship in the Lord and committed his life to pursuing full-time ministry. In August 2015, he finished his seminary training at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, earning his Master’s of Divinity in Worship Studies. For the past half dozen years, he has been the Youth Ministry Director at Ambassador Bible Church, in Chantilly, before joining God in planting Restoration Church with Ed and Rod. (Incidentally, he and Ed spent 8+ years together in Youth Ministry before reconnecting years later!) While in the early stages of the plant, Bernard plans to be a “tent-making” pastor, working at the National Institutes of Health as an Analyst, and serving Restoration as the Pastor of Operations and Creative Arts Ministries.
When not doing ministry, you’ll probably find Bernard spending time with his family, out playing football or tennis in one of the local leagues, riding/racing his motorcycles and car, watching racing, or at home, playing on his guitar. Bernard is married to his wife of ten years, Margaret, with whom they have two children — Jude and Hannah. They live very close to the Downtown Crown Area and are excited to be serving their community and being the church with those in their very own backyard. They’re looking forward to continuing this journey of joining God in the restoration of all things!
