The Art of Neighboring
Loving Our Literal Neighbor (4.16.23)
The power and genius of The Great Commandment is that it’s so simple and yet extremely powerful when acted on. The smartest thing that we can do collectively to impact our city is to actually live out Jesus’ command to love our neighbors.
The Time Barrier (4.23.23)
In order to take The Great Commandment seriously, we must create space in our lives to build relationships with those who live near us. Jesus gives us a great example, while Martha... not so much!
The Fear Factor (4.30.23)
Fear is one of our primary obstacles to neighboring well. There's a story in the OT (Numbers 13) that emphasizes how significant of a factor it can be. And then there's the example of Jesus (Luke 5). In this message, Pastor Ed walked through both and encouraged us to overcome our fear with the power of God's Spirit (2 Tim 1:7).
Give What You Have (5.7.23)
We wrapped up our mini-series on The Art of Neighboring with this message, which includes Pastor Ed leading communion. God doesn't expect us to be perfect neighbors. It's not easy loving our neighbors as we love ourselves. But we all have something to give. Give what you have, what you're able, even just a minute to listen to a neighbor... and God can use what you give to do miracles!
